Commissioning
Commissioning a sculpture gives you the opportunity to own a unique work of art, whether it is a private piece for a collection, a major public work, a memorial or an exceptional gift.
What is Involved:
Before contacting Douglas to discuss your requirements, consider whether you would like a full figure, portrait bust or a life size sculpture. As a Portrait and Figurative sculptor Douglas develops realistic, dynamic and accurate portrait figures, including children and animals, contemporary or classical in style, in wax, plaster, stone and bronze.
The Commissioning Process
Contact Douglas for an initial consultation to discuss the design concept of the piece you would like commissioned. Details such as the pose and expression, style, materials and the budget will be covered at this stage as well as timescales, which will vary depending on the size and complexity of the commission. Once a brief is in place, the process begins either with the research of pictures, photographs and any other reference material and/or live sculpting sessions with the subject. Throughout the whole process you are directly involved, with regular review sessions that continue until final approval. Once approved a mould is made, cast and polished to the requirements and installed at its location.
You work directly with the artist, Douglas Jennings, and receive personal service throughout the commissioning process.
